Looking for the best green energy tariffs in the UK? We’re confident in saying that our Standard Variable and Fixed tariffs are among the greenest energy supply in Britain – and we’ve got the awards to prove it.

No other UK energy supplier has earned every single one of the awards listed below. Each comes from a different, independently trusted consumer choice service – from B Corp to Uswitch to Which? – so you don’t just have to take our word for it.

In this blog, we explain the full list of endorsements behind our 100% renewable electricity.

Which? Eco Provider for Energy

Which? have been helping households find the best quality services for over 70 years. Their Eco Provider accreditation is a prestigious endorsement given to energy suppliers who demonstrate outstanding sustainability – recognising those that support renewable producers and help households move away from fossil fuels.

We’re proud to be named an Eco Provider for Energy for the sixth year running. And this year, we topped the tables for our approach to renewable energy sourcing, and for supporting homes and businesses to decarbonise.

Our research shows that some energy firms go to great lengths to invest in the technology we need to clean up the grid, generate renewable electricity, or buy it from renewable generators.

B Corp certified

B Corp certification is a rigorous, independently verified standard awarded by B Lab, a global non-profit network. To qualify, a business must prove – through independent assessment – that it meets high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability, balancing purpose with profit rather than prioritising shareholders alone.

Good Energy is the only UK home energy provider to be B Corp certified. That means that our entire business has been independently reviewed to prioritise people and planet in all that we do. We achieved a particularly high score of 118.5, more than double the average company score.

Uswitch Green Tariff Accreditation

Britain’s leading utility switching service is making it easier to find genuinely green energy suppliers. Their Green Tariff accreditation launched in 2021, grades tariffs on how far they go in supporting renewable energy and improving transparency for customers navigating often‑confusing green claims.

In 2026, Good Energy became the only UK energy company to receive Uswitch’s Green Accreditation, reinforcing our position as the UK’s gold‑standard renewable supplier. Uswitch named five tariffs as meeting its highest environmental standards and every one of them is supplied by Good Energy. We have now achieved this recognition for five consecutive years.

The accreditation is assessed by a panel of independent experts, and recognises suppliers that can demonstrate they are genuinely supporting renewable energy. This includes buying electricity directly from renewable generators, closely matching customers’ energy use with renewable generation throughout the year, and helping increase the amount of renewable gas reaching UK homes.

Good Energy has supported Friends of the Earth for well over a decade. Like Friends of the Earth, we’re working to stop the UK’s reliance on fossil fuels. Arguing for investment in lower cost, local renewable energy generation instead of expensive, imported fossil fuels is essential to tackling the climate crisis – and the cost-of-living crisis, too.

Our dedication to buying 100% renewable electricity directly from British generators has been recognised as being genuinely green. That’s why we’re delighted to be recommended as a green energy supplier by Friends of the Earth.

Green energy tariff accreditation FAQs

A genuinely green tariff isn’t just about the label – it comes down to where the electricity actually comes from, and how transparent the supplier is about it. Look for suppliers that:

  • Buy electricity directly from renewable generators, rather than simply purchasing offset certificates for electricity that actually came from fossil fuels.
  • Match customer demand with renewable generation as closely as possible – ideally in real time, not just once a year.
  • Publish independent, third-party verification of their claims, rather than relying on self-reported figures.
  • Support British renewable generators directly, rather than just buying green energy from anonymous or overseas sources on the open market.

This is part of why accreditations matter: they’re independently assessed, so you don’t have to just take a supplier’s word for it. You can read more about what makes Good Energy different from other suppliers, or see our full range of tariffs to compare how we source our electricity and gas.

Yes – and rather than just taking our word for it, we’d point you to the independent evidence. Good Energy is the only UK home energy provider to be B Corp certified, the only UK energy company to hold the Uswitch Green Tariff Accreditation, and a six-time Which? Eco Provider for energy. We’re also recommended as a green energy supplier by Friends of the Earth, and rated #1 for transparency on the Matched Clean Power Index – independently verified evidence that our renewable generation matches our customers’ actual electricity use closer than any other supplier. No other UK energy supplier holds this combination of independently assessed accreditations and recognitions.

B Corp certification is awarded by B Lab, an independent global non-profit, to businesses that meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. Good Energy is the only UK home energy provider to hold this certification.

The Uswitch Green Tariff Accreditation is an independent grading system, launched by Uswitch in 2021, that assesses how genuinely a tariff supports renewable energy – including how directly a supplier sources electricity from renewable generators. Good Energy is currently the only UK energy company to hold this accreditation.

Which? Eco Provider status is awarded to energy suppliers that demonstrate outstanding sustainability, including direct support for renewable generation and infrastructure. Good Energy has held this status for six consecutive years.

The Matched Clean Power Index an independent index that measures how closely an energy supplier’s renewable generation matches its customers’ actual electricity use, half-hour by half-hour, rather than just matching supply and demand annually. Good Energy achieves an 88% match – the highest rating of any UK supplier on the index.
