Solar Care FAQs
Solar Care is currently available to new customers installing solar panels with Good Energy, and to customers who previously installed solar with a Good Energy group company. After contacting this group, we’ll open the scheme to all homes with solar panels, subject to a survey to confirm eligibility.
Customers can choose between three levels of protection, summarised in the table below.

Our annual service involves a comprehensive inspection of your solar panels, inverter, wiring and battery (where applicable) by a qualified solar electrician. This ensures your system remains safe, efficient, and performing at its best. The service includes electrical testing, thermal imaging, software updates, an inverter clean, and a detailed service report.
Solar Care is paid annually upfront in one simple payment. Your subscription will auto-renew each year. Customers can cancel the subscription for the upcoming year by email at any point before the new subscription window begins.
These prices are correct as of 2026, and are subject to change:
Essential Care: From £15 per month | From £179.50 per year
Advanced Care: From £20.70 per month | From £248.30 per year
Ultimate Care: From £29.50 | From £353.60 per year
Please note, If additional access measures to the roof are required for panel cleaning, this will be an additional cost that is invoiced separately.
Our maintenance packages are designed to support the longevity of your system and to proactively identify faults early. Our Essential Care and Advanced Care packages do not cover the cost of repairs or labour outside of warranty. If you are on Ultimate Care, labour to repair or replace faulty parts is included (for eligible faults). This is separate to any workmanship warranty you may have, which includes free labour to fix faults caused during installation.
No. Unlike a boiler or a heat pump, you don’t need to get your solar system serviced once a year to maintain your product warranty. However, annual maintenance and cleaning will help your system to work more efficiently and support a longer lifespan too.

- Annual solar panel clean using de-ionised water, so you’ll never miss out on savings due to debris.
- Annual visual panel inspection to check for loose tiles and irregularities
