myenergi now powered by hourly-matched renewables from Good Energy
British smart home energy technology manufacturer has switched the energy supply of its operations to Good Energy, taking advantage of the renewable electricity company’s hourly matching service
myenergi, the -smart home energy technology manufacturer, has switched the energy supplier for its headquarters and manufacturing facilities to renewable electricity supplier and services provider Good Energy. The move means that myenergi’s electricity usage will not only be backed by 100% renewable power purchase agreements (PPAs) from Good Energy’s more than 2500 generators across the year, they will also be matched by the hour 90% of the time.
Running in parallel to its new supply from Good Energy, myenergi’s state-of-the-art headquarters and production facility in Stallingborough features a 594-panel, 260kWp solar array, which provides more than 20% of the site’s electricity requirement.
As an eco-smart technology manufacturer, myenergi helps customers in their homes to flex and manage their energy use. The zappi EV charger allows EV drivers to charge at times when the grid is lower carbon or when they are generating their own renewable energy; the eddi energy diverter uses surplus solar generation to heat hot water or the home; and the libbi smart home battery store cheaper, greener energy to use later – with whole home analytics provided through the myenergi app. Good Energy’s hourly matching is now enabling myenergi to follow he same principles for the energy it uses in its manufacturing and operations.
By providing access to myenergi’s matching data via the Granular Energy platform, Good Energy is now enabling the technology manufacturer to use the insights provided to flex their energy usage to reduce their carbon footprint.
The new agreement is an extension of an existing relationship between the two companies, as Good Energy is an installer of Zappi EV chargers and Eddi hot water controllers, alongside its solar, storage and heat pump installation services.
Tom Parsons, director of sales and origination, Good Energy, said: “As an innovative business which is helping customers cut their carbon by shifting how and when they use energy in their homes, myenergi naturally understood the importance of energy data and flexing demand.
“Good Energy supplying myenergi’s headquarters and manufacturing operations with hourly matched renewables creates the kind of carbon reducing circular approach we need to see everywhere across all industries.
“As two pioneers in the clean energy space it is brilliant to be building on our existing relationship and leading the way towards net zero together.”
Carl Allen, CEO, myenergi commented: “As one of the originators of the clean energy industry in the UK with a commitment to truly renewable power, Good Energy is a perfect partner for our energy supply. Being able to see the data on how our electricity usage is matched with the output from their portfolio of renewable generators in real time means we can practice what we preach to our customers and supports the transition to renewable energy.”
