We’re lucky to work with so many great organisations here at Good Energy, including our friends at the National Trust.
Today we’re really excited to announce that we’ll be continuing our relationship together for another two years!
Tackling climate change
One goal of the partnership is to raise awareness of climate change. We hope to inspire the Trust’s four million members, supporters, staff and volunteers to take one easy step to tackle the problem by switching to Good Energy’s 100% renewable electricity.
Climate change is everyone’s business and we want more people to know the issues facing us and give simple and practical steps on what we can all do to be part of the solution.
For example, did you know that if 1 in 10 National Trust members switched to Good Energy we’d save 320,000 tonnes of CO2 every year? That’s like taking 200,000 cars off the UK’s streets!
Looking back at a successful three years
As Europe’s largest conservation charity, it’s been inspiring to work alongside the Trust and see the treasured institution making its own long term investments in addressing climate change.
Since our partnership began, we have seen the completion of four renewable projects as part of the Trust’s pilot Renewable Energy Investment programme, which was launched in partnership with Good Energy back in 2013.
Good Energy even sources some renewable power from the Trust's hydro turbines at Hafod y Porth in Snowdonia and the waterwheel at Aberdulais Falls.
Switch to cleaner, greener electricity
National Trust rural enterprises director Patrick Begg, said: “We are really pleased to be able to continue our partnership with Good Energy which has helped to showcase how renewable technologies can be made to work in some of the country’s most sensitive landscapes and historic environments.
“By signing up to Good Energy our members can support the work we do to help maintain a healthy, beautiful natural environment in the face of today’s conservation challenges.”
It’s been great working with the National Trust over the last few years and we’re excited to begin the next stage of our renewable journey together.
Supporters who are inspired to switch to Good Energy’s 100% renewable electricity or dual fuel tariffs will receive a National Trust gift card worth up to £40 when quoting ‘National Trust’.
For every year they remain a customer, Good Energy will also donate the same sum to the National Trust to help support it in its conservation work.
