Paul Jupp from Devizes in Wiltshire has had a lifelong passion for organic gardening and protecting some of the UK’s most important species, such as butterflies and bees.
Following a career in sustainable gardening, Paul, along with his wife Lesley, decided to take their love for wild gardens to the next level and set up their own eco-friendly business from home – Meadow in my Garden.
Recognizing that the UK has lost an astonishing 97% of its wildflower meadows since the 1930s, Meadow in my Garden has been offering expert advice and selling wildflower products to budding green-fingered consumers since 2010.
And they’ve recently boosted their green credentials further by signing up as a Good Energy customer!
“Our seed mixes and green products can transform any type of garden, large or small, creating a magnificent patchwork of colour throughout the summer” said Paul. “We care about our world and we want to do everything we can to help more people grow wildlife friendly flower meadows.
“We make sure all our packaging is completely recyclable and/or reusable and that any surplus wildflower seeds are donated to schools and community groups in our local area.”
From selling specially designed seed mixes for wildlife-friendly planting, to handmade bird boxes, baths and feeders, one of Paul’s main goals is to make sure the business is as environmentally friendly as possible.
That’s why he decided, earlier this year, to go one step further and switch the business to Good Energy’s 100% renewable electricity tariff.
“It was the 100% renewable offering that initially attracted me to Good Energy, as well as all the fantastic work they are doing to grow support for renewables across the UK.
“Not only are they located just up the road from us in Chippenham, they’re also doing a great job at supporting home-grown, sustainable generation, and the local economy too!”
