Juliet Davenport wins prestigious People and Environment (PEA) Business Achievement Awards
RSS FeedChippenham 27 January 2012: Juliet Davenport, founder and CEO of 100% renewable electricity supplier Good Energy, has been named ‘CEO of the Year’ at the inaugural People and Environment (PEA) Business Awards and also won the overall award.
She was presented with the awards by entrepreneur Deborah Meaden at a ceremony in London last night organised by King Lion Media, publishers of Green magazine, and hosted by BBC TV presenter Liz Bonnin. The awards celebrate how green initiatives can be good for business as well as the planet. Juliet was chosen as a ‘visionary CEO who most clearly demonstrates an outstanding commitment to sustainability in their market’.
Juliet Davenport said: “I’m really pleased to have won this accolade, which is a great testament to the fantastic progress Good Energy has made recently. In 2011 over 11,000 households, businesses and communities joined our homegrown energy revolution by generating their own clean, green renewable electricity. They are the ‘mini power stations of the future’. Our vision is to empower people to take control of their own energy and I am looking forward to another successful year in 2012, making this vision a reality.”
Good Energy is unique in the electricity supply industry selling only 100% renewable electricity. The company supports a pioneering community of 12,000 independent renewable generators using wind, small-scale hydro, solar power and sustainable biogeneration to generate homegrown energy. It has recently been voted best electricity supplier in a customer satisfaction survey conducted by Which?, the independent consumer watchdog, for a second time.
