Good Energy has been shortlisted in two categories of the prestigious Wiltshire Life Awards 2023, which recognise outstanding achievements across the county where the company is based.

The company is a finalist for both the Green Business Award and the Apprentice of the Year.

Wiltshire Life magazine received a great number of entries and described being shortlisted as “an incredible feat”.

The Green Business nomination focuses on the many ways in which Good Energy has been working hard to reduce its carbon emissions.

It includes the voluntary commitment to the Science Based Targets initiative which sets the ambitious goal of a 50 per cent reduction in emissions by 2030, supported by the successful transition to hybrid-working, the encouragement of ‘green travel’ and greater scrutiny of the supply chain to source more net-zero suppliers.

The nomination also praises the work of the Green Champions who meet on a monthly basis to encourage sustainability within the business, and highlights the company’s support for local climate conferences and other such events where staff share ideas and drive change.

The Apprentice of the Year nomination praises Michaela Kalupa, People & Culture apprentice administrator, who is currently studying for a Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) Level 3 apprenticeship.

Colleagues say she has become “an invaluable member of the team.” They describe her as “professional, proactive and self-driven and a true asset to the business” and praise her for the “positive impact” she’s already made.

Michaela said: “Good Energy have been really supportive. I couldn’t have asked for a better employer.”

The winners will be announced at an awards dinner and ceremony at Devizes Corn Exchange in March.
