How to switch

    • Sign up online and choose either our fixed or standard tariff as an interim option, while we check your smart meter’s set up correctly. We’ll then automatically switch you to EV Charge.
    • It can take up to two weeks to check your smart meter is working and switch you over to, but it’s usually much less.
    • You’ll need a smart meter before we move you over to EV Charge. We’ll need to take your smart meter readings every 30 minutes. If you don’t have a smart meter, we’ll arrange to have one fitted.
    • Good Energy EV Charge is a fixed tariff. This means your rates will be fixed for the duration of the tariff.
    • Good Energy EV Charge has an end date that’s usually 12 months from the start date. If you want to switch to another supplier before then, there’s an early exit fee of £50 per fuel. Click the link below to learn more.

Why charge your EV with Good Energy?

EV charger installation

Good Energy offers EV charger installation across England’s South and Midlands.

Our expert team seamlessly integrate your EV charger with your existing or planned generation or storage so you can charge your EV directly from your solar panels. We currently provide the myenergi zappi in tethered or untethered, 7kW or 22kW.

*Based on charging a 65kW EV battery for 7.5 hours @6.6p/kWh with an estimated range of 225 miles. A five-hour charge will cost £2.44, and a full charge from £4.29 and 1.9p per mile. Off-peak period is five hours per day only, from 12am-5am, meaning for a full charge you’d have to complete the charge across two off-peak periods. The cost of charging the same car for 7.5 consecutive hours would be around £10.
What makes this a greener charge? Charging your EV with Good Energy is greener than charging with the UK’s standard electricity fuel mix because we match every unit of electricity you use with 100% renewable power from our community of over 3,000 UK generators. Our tariffs are independently verified for their renewable sourcing – so you can be sure your charge makes a positive difference. Learn more at goodenergy.co.uk/what-makes-good-energy-different
