Good Energy is proud to be a long-term partner of the National Self Build & Renovation Centre (NSBRC) – the UK’s only permanent visitor centre dedicated to homebuilding and renovation. If you’re interested in building or upgrading a more sustainable home, the NSBRC is one of the best places to start.
Throughout the year we attend a range of events, where visitors can explore renewable technology first-hand and speak directly with our expert team about better ways to power their homes.

With more than 200 exhibitors, free expert talks, and educational tours, the Festival of Sustainable Homes is an inspiring two-day showcase of low-carbon innovation. Good Energy is proud to sponsor this event for the second year running, and we are pleased to invite anyone looking to build, renovate or improve their home with sustainability in mind to join us.

Discover our home renewables tour
Inside the NSBRC’s permanent Renovation House, we’ve helped create an immersive walk-through experience featuring real working clean tech systems. Designed to help you explore low-carbon living in an immersive, full-scale environment, you can imagine the possibilities and ask the right questions all in one place.
Follow the yellow arrows around the house to explore:
- Solar panel displays on the roof and in-roof, helping you visualise options for harnessing solar on your property.
- Battery storage systems designed to store your solar energy for use later in the day.
- An air source heat pump delivering low-carbon home heating using energy from the air.
- An EV charger with smart solar integration for cleaner driving.
You’ll also find helpful display boards, system walkthroughs and an audio tour (coming soon), giving you the facts you need to make informed decisions about your home energy setup.
