myenergi: Solar PV and renewable energy supply
myenergi share their case study of working with Good Energy
Smart energy manufacturer, myenergi, was founded to have a positive impact on people and planet. And that desire extends to their business operations as well as the products they create.
With their headquarters and factory supplied by Good Energy, a 323.14 kWp solar array installed by our expert team and an export tariff with us too, we asked Emma Brigginshaw, Head of Sustainability and Ethics at myenergi to share myenergi’s testimonial.
Introducing myenergi
Founded in 2016, myenergi design, manufacture and install smart energy products designed to help homes make the most of renewable energy. Their flagship products include:
- myenergi zappi: an intelligent EV charger that prioritises energy from solar panels or wind turbines.
- myenergi eddi: a power diverter that can redirect surplus solar or wind energy to heat your water, radiators or underfloor heating
- myenergi libbi: a modular smart home battery system for storing excess energy.
A 323kWp solar array that cuts carbon, saves money and enhances reputation
With an ambition of manufacturing their products in a zero-carbon facility, choosing to install solar panels was an easy decision for myenergi.
In 2021, they chose Good Energy Solar to install a 63.7kWp solar array at their headquarters. Motivated by their positive experience, they selected us again to install a 259.44kWp solar array on their factory rooftop in 2023. In the summer months, the two solar arrays provide around 50% of myenergi’s total usage – with a year-round figure of around 23%.
“From the initial consultation through survey, design and installation, our experience with Good Energy was great. It was a huge benefit to have a responsive team at the end of a phone to iron out any problems as they arose. The accompanying app has also been a great tool in allowing us visibility of generation and consumption.
“The panels are visible evidence of efforts we are making to be a sustainable business. When our customers and partners come to visit our products where they are made, our solar panels make a big impression and help us demonstrate our sustainability commitments.
“As well as helping us to decarbonise our operations and enhance our reputation, we are getting a return on investment very quickly which is fabulous.” Emma Brigginshaw, Head of Sustainability and Ethics at myenergi.
A headquarters and factory powered by Good Energy
While myenergi’s solar arrays cover around 23% of their annual electricity usage, the company wanted the power they use to be 100% renewable. This is why they switched their headquarters and factory to Good Energy. What’s more, the solar electricity they don’t use on site is sold to Good Energy to be used by other homes and businesses.
“At myenergi, we help customers take control of their energy use and decarbonise their lives. We needed an energy supplier we can trust, who shares our sustainability values and who is capable of evidencing that the energy we buy is from genuine renewable sources. Now we have switched all of our electricity supply for the locations that are in our control to Good Energy, we are able to report Scope 2 market-based emissions of zero in our annual company report.
“Generating our own energy is an absolute no-brainer and, as a British success story, we are proud to be working with another Great British business, Good Energy.” Emma Brigginshaw, Head of Sustainability and Ethics at myenergi.
