In October 2024, we announced that Good Energy had acquired Amelio Solar and Empower Energy, solar installation companies with a strong presence in the commercial solar sector.

Read on to find out more about these two companies, and Good Energy’s solar installation ambitions.

A leader in commercial solar installation

The acqusitions of Empower Energy and Amelio Solar, combined with Good Energy’s existing solar installation capability across the south, represent a major step towards us achieving our strategic objectives in the solar installation market.

These acquisitions make Good Energy particularly well placed to scale our commercial solar installation capacity – while bringing the quality in design, installation and aftercare that customers expect from Good Energy.

Amelio Solar

Based in Lincolnshire with strong coverage in the North of England, Amelio Solar has built a reputation for delivering rooftop solar solutions for businesses, education and public sector entities.  This builds upon Good Energy’s current offering, that had previously been weighted towards domestic installations.

Empower Energy

Empower Energy is a solar design and installation company with 15 years of nationwide solar installation experience. The business specialises in large-scale solar, including schools, hotels, industrial units and solar farms.

“Businesses are increasingly recognising that the commercial rationale for installing solar is strong, even before you consider the benefits of carbon reduction. With energy costs remaining high, businesses and organisations with rooftop real estate can achieve excellent returns on investment.

“Good Energy is already providing high quality, consultative commercial solar installation services to customers in the South, and through Amelio Solar and Empower Energy joining the Group we are stepping this up further.

“As the third and fourth solar acquisitions Good Energy has made in 18 months, we have rapidly scaled our service coverage and capability. We will now be focussed on integrating these businesses under the Good Energy brand, leveraging our increased operational scale and vertical integration to provide a cohesive experience for commercial customers looking to cut their energy bills and their carbon through installing solar.”
