Our Purpose
Good Energy exists to power a cleaner, greener world together with our customers, generators, investors and people. Each year, we track our progress towards our goal in our purpose report.

Renewable Energy Report
Good Energy always has and always will supply 100% renewable electricity, derived only from UK sources of generation – this is our brand promise. This report, audited by SGS, provides the guarantee to our customers that we are delivering on our promise, and helping them to cut their carbon.
Sustainable procurement policy
We aim to make sure that our procurement activities meet our needs in terms of sustainability, quality, quantity, price and timeliness of delivery – while also enabling fair and open competition.
How we buy power
Sourcing 100% renewable electricity is vital to our business. We have some of the strictest purchasing criteria in the energy industry that aims to make sure our generation has as little negative impact on the surrounding ecological and socio-economic environments as possible.
Our renewable energy procurement strategy outlines what types of sites we buy power from. Our biogeneration procurement policy goes into more depth on how we make sure we’re buying power from sustainably managed biofuel generation sites.
For other goods and services, our processes support us to select suppliers fairly and openly while considering their ethical and sustainable credentials. Our commitments to the suppliers we contract with are outlined in our Standard Terms and Conditions (Supply of Goods and Services).

Post 2025 Smart Deployment targets:
From the second half of 2026, Good Energy have forecast and set targets, which have been approved by Ofgem, to continue the Smart Meter Rollout.
As well as the Smart Rollout, we have set targets up to 2033 for the replacement of SMET1 meters and Communication hub upgrades. SMETS1 and old Communication hubs are now outdated and will be replaced with the latest technology before the historic services no longer function and prevent our customers from having working smart meters.

Modern Slavery Act
Good Energy’s purpose is to drive the transition away from fossil fuels in a way that benefits both people and planet. 2040 Fossil Gas Transition Plan
Today Good Energy sells greener gas which is 10% biogas and the remainder carbon offset. But we cannot tackle climate change and still use fossil gas for heating. That is why we have confirmed our plan to stop selling fossil gas entirely by 2040, a transition aligned with 1.5ºC of global heating.
