Good Energy is committed to sharing the benefits of renewable energy by investing in the local communities that host our generation projects.
Before submitting any planning application for Willow Wind Farm, we want to work with the community and other stakeholders to identify ways the project can benefit the local area.
As a minimum, we would aim to establish a community fund to support local projects worth at least £5,000 per MW per year. How the fund is spent would be entirely up to the local community, but it could support a range of local environmental, educational or cultural initiatives.
Another option that has proved popular around our other wind farms is a special local tariff offering renewable electricity to local homes at significantly below our standard prices.
We’ll also be seeking people’s views on the potential for shared ownership of the wind farm through some form of community investment.
