Good Energy tops green energy and cleantech awards

Chippenham-based renewable energy company Good Energy has been recognised at one of the UK’s top green energy awards.

The 100% renewable electricity and green gas firm scooped the ‘New Energy Champion of the Year’ trophy at the 2016 New Energy and Cleantech awards. The award was in recognition of the organisation’s achievements since it was founded in 1999.

“It’s a huge honour to have won this award as it recognises everyone’s hard work in making Good Energy what it is today,” said David Brooks, Managing Director at Good Energy.

“With the signing of the Paris climate change agreement taking place just last week in New York, there’s never been a more crucial time to think about where our energy comes from.

“Our mission to tackle climate change remains at the heart of everything we do. We strongly believe we have the opportunity to use the footprint of our business as a force for good and setting the standard for others to follow.”

Winners were chosen by a panel of experts based on innovation, sustainability and awarded those individuals or companies playing a pivotal role in the shaping of the future green energy and cleantech sector.
