Green energy company goes red for Comic Relief

Tables were creaking with sweet treats on Friday as staff at Chippenham’s Good Energy held their very own ‘Comic Relief Bake Off’ to raise money for Red Nose Day.

From muffins, brownies and flapjacks to carrot cake cupcakes topped with edible Red Noses, more than 20 different varieties of cakes and biscuits were on sale throughout the day raising an impressive £130 for Comic Relief.

The green energy company, which supplies more than 74,000 customers with 100% renewable electricity, also raised an additional £210 for the charity, bringing the overall donation to £340, by selling some of its old desktop computers and monitors to members of staff.

Michelle Mackintosh, Facilities Manager at Good Energy said:

“Staff are always keen to help support great causes here at Good Energy, especially if it means having their cake and eating it!

“We decided that a cake sale would be a great way to raise money for Comic Relief and it’s been fantastic seeing, and eating, all the delicious treats that everyone so kindly donated.”
