Good Energy get on their bikes for Cycle to Work Day
Staff at Chippenham based renewable electricity company, Good Energy, took to two wheels for Cycle to Work Day, a national event held on 3rd September 2015.
Good Energy rewarded all riders with a free breakfast. Staff cycled in from as far as Westbury, Bristol and Bath.
Ed Coleman, Sustrans Active Travel champion at Good Energy said, ‘We’re pleased to support Cycle to Work Day. Cycling is a great way of keeping fit, saving money and our environment too. Wiltshire is a wonderful place to cycle with lots of great routes, and initiatives like this are a great way to encourage more people to get on their bikes and go for it!’
According to the census data, 760,000 people in the UK cycle to work regularly - this number keeps growing steadily, but the Cycle to Work Day's initiative aims to make those numbers skyrocket this year and beyond.
Good Energy was set up to cut carbon emissions and encouraging staff to use pedal power is one way to support this. Travel is one of the largest sources of emissions in the UK.
