This is a variable-price time-of-use tariff that depends on receiving regular smart meter readings. Before you can be switched on to it, you must agree to have a SMETS2 smart meter installed at your property, if you do not have one already, and for Good Energy to receive half hourly readings from your smart meter.
You can withdraw your permission for half hourly readings at any time, but you will become ineligible for the multi-rate prices and will be moved to the single rate price relevant to your region.
This tariff is subject to eligibility criteria which can be found here.
Already have a smart meter?
If you’re new to Good Energy, but already have a smart meter, it will take about 2 working days to switch your energy supply. You will receive a welcome pack from us after your switch has been processed, confirming that you have been placed onto the single rate price of the Good Energy Standard – Smart Meter EVtariff that is relevant to your meters region. You will also receive an email confirmation once your switch is completed and you are on supply with us, but this does not confirm your tariffs.
Once on supply with us, you will remain on the single rate price of the tariff until we are able to get your meter set up behind the scenes (this may take up to 30 days). When your meter is fully set up, we will email you to confirm that you have been switched from the single rate price to the dual rate price.
If we are unable to set up your smart meter correctly the first time, we will try to set up your meter again.
You can see the latest rates for the Good Energy Standard (Smart Meter EV) tariff here.
