PPA and SmartGen: how to use your online account
After feedback from our customers, we have invested in a new system that makes it simpler to manage your export account online. This allows you to view your balance, Self Billing Invoices and keep your contact details up to date.

Why do I have to register for the online account?
We have updated our billing system, which includes a brand-new online account. This is where we’ll upload all your Self Billing Invoices (SBIs), giving you access to everything in one place. We will no longer be posting or emailing invoices to customers separately, so you must register for the account when invited to do so.
I can no longer access the new online account using the link in my invitation email. What should I do?
The link in our invitation email was just a temporary one which allowed you to securely register your account. Once you’ve set up your account, you can log in here.
Can I upload FIT readings?
No, the online account is only for your Metered Export account. Please continue to manage your FIT account and Import account in the usual way. If you upload FIT or Import Readings to the portal, it will not be applied to the account.
What is the ‘Submit Reading’ button for?
If your site is Half-hourly, you do not need to submit readings for your export meter. Please only submit a reading for your export if your site is Non-half-hourly. We are in the process of removing this button from accounts that it isn’t applicable to.
How will the SBIs be issued moving forward? Will it still be via email?
Once an SBI has been issued, it will be uploaded to the online account and you will receive an email notification. You can then log in to your account to view your SBIs.
Past SBIs that were emailed to you won’t be visible in your account. If you require these, please email us on ppa@goodenergy.co.uk
How do I reset my online account password?
Please go to the account login page and click the ‘Forgotten your password’ link to reset your password.
Why can’t I see all of my accounts when I log in?
The online account is only for Metered Export and Business Import accounts. Your FIT Accounts will not show here.
If you have any other accounts that have an Export MPAN which you would like to link to the online account, please email details to SmartGen@goodenergy and a member of the team will link it for you.
What is the balance that shows on main page of my online account?
This is a live balance, worked out based on your standing charge and any other charges or credits on your account. Once your Self Billing Invoices are processed then the account balance will be updated.
Can I add another contact to the account so they can log in as well?
Yes, we can add another person to your online account with your permission. You will need to email your account manager to arrange for a registration email to be sent to your chosen contact.
