About the role

This role sits in our Business Systems Team, within the wider Business Services function, which is ultimately responsible for the growth of business customers through development and delivery of services.  The Business Systems Team is responsible for developing and maintaining the systems that underpin the Business Services function. These include the customer management systems for our PPA and Business Sales teams—as well as systems for billing, data management and brokerage.

The team is also tasked with ensuring the data utilised by Business Services within these systems is correct by validating all incoming data, storing data efficiently and managing outgoing data streams.

The role of the Systems Analyst is to support the Business Systems Team in all these areas, but particularly to focus on improving processes, managing databases and maintaining data integrity. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with strong programming skills to apply themselves to a growing area of the business and learn more about the Energy Industry.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Support Data and Systems implementation to ensure the B2B business processes are streamlined
  • Work on innovative solutions for PPA, FiT and Supply process issues
  • Maintain and develop the existing business databases
  • Work closely with the Half Hourly Data Analyst to improve the process of data checking and identify and act upon areas for improvement.
  • Provide regular reports to Business Systems Manager on systems development and the progress that is being made.
  • Data analytics and ensuring the data we hold is accurate and up to date
  • Provide high level and summary reporting
  • Assist Propositions Manager with new product offerings

About You

With previous programming experience in Access and VBA, you will have a comprehensive understanding of relational databases and be able to build solutions in Excel and Access.  You will also be able to demonstrate your ability to work independently and be able to see things through to their conclusion.  Confident and a quick learner you’ll be able to investigate and identify the inner workings of bespoke systems quickly.

It would be a distinct advantage if you are also comfortable working with SQL, or you have previously worked in a data role within an Energy Supplier.

You don’t have to have a background in renewable energy but you must be motivated by working for a purpose and values led organisation, and have the capability to learn about a complex industry, fast.

We value taking a straightforward approach in how we work together, being determined and resilient in realising our purpose. We are inclusive and fair in balancing the needs of our people, customer, shareholders and futureholders. We look for people whose personal values and behaviours align with this.

We are a challenger in the energy market and this is an energy company like no other. You will work alongside colleagues who put our customers and our values at the heart of everything they do. You’ll be part of a small and friendly team so expect to make new friends and enjoy team activities outside of work. Just like us and our customers you will have an interest and understanding of environmental issues.
