Product Tech Lead

Salary: Competitive + excellent benefits

About us

Changing the world is no easy task. But in 1999 that’s exactly what Good Energy set out to do. Its purpose is to enable people, in their homes and their businesses to play an important role in protecting their world from climate change, by providing access to locally sourced renewable energy. Fast forward 18 years and the business is now a key player in the renewable energy space, helping shape national debate & policy and enjoying hard earned business success, trebling revenues over last 5 years.

The key to this success? Is the understanding that significant change can be achieved by individuals and businesses working together to make a difference at scale. “Together” has helped create a high performing team of over 325 passionate, skilled and motivated colleagues. “Together” has galvanised thousands of consumers, business customers and renewable suppliers.

As part of aligning IT & Digitals’ delivery, the department is looking to work ever closer with the non-IT departments to provide a transparency, focused and Customer Promise based delivery service to Good Energy; making Good Energy a Lean enterprise.

About the role

The Product Tech Lead will be working closely with their Product Lead to provide a ‘voice of technology’ to help the Product Lead understand the opportunities, constraints and effort required to achieve delivery; a key feed into the economic assessment of elements of their Product Roadmap and the first step in converting the ‘what’ into a ‘how’

Working with the Technical Architect, the Product Tech Lead will also have to co-ordinate and champion the implementation of architectural changes within their Product; a mechanism to ensure the IT estate is actively managed and key (cross product) enablers can be delivered.

About you

With experience of working within an Agile environment, you will be a proven collaborative decision maker around technological solutions with experience of designing and delivering commercial software solutions.

You will possess demonstrable experience of managing commercial and technical stakeholders to deliver on a prioritised roadmap. You will have leadership qualities to develop teams and deliver against commercial goals, whilst ensuring you are providing technical expertise across multiple Good Energy systems and technologies.
