Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 + excellent benefits

The business has recently reviewed its longer term strategy and is now poised to take a leap forwards, focused on a transformational growth agenda which delivers long term value for its customers, shareholders and people. This will enable the achievement of its purpose; powering the choice for customers, of a cleaner greener future. Good Energy now employs around 300 people in the historic market town of Chippenham, Wiltshire.
About the role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you’ll work closely with the Finance and Energy Trading teams to deliver insight into our industry specific cost of sales and our cash position, and provide recommendations based on analysis to the key stakeholders
You’ll ensure good governance and provide financial oversight over specific Financial and Energy Trading activities, as well as over the trading credit position and counterparties, to ensure these remain appropriate for the needs of the business.
Working collaboratively within the Finance and Energy Trading teams you’ll pass on the knowledge you gain by providing learnings and coaching other members of the finance team.
You’ll use your knowledge gained from the relationship with the Energy Trading team to contribute to the management accounts around our direct costs and energy specific accruals, ensuring alignment with the commercial requirements of the business, in addition to ensuring good accounting practice.
Possessing an ACCA/ACA/CIMA or equivalent qualification and a strong background in Finance, you’ll be an excellent communicator who is able to forge strong reciprocal working relationships with internal stakeholders. You’ll have the ability to present the financial situation with accurate data, providing commercially considered recommendations to the senior leadership team.
Being organised and efficient with excellent attention to detail, you’ll be able to pull together information from varied sources and be able to prioritise areas of focus.
Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills coupled with strong Excel knowledge will be an essential criteria for this role.
