About us

Changing the world is no easy task. But in 1999 that’s exactly what Good Energy set out to do. Its purpose is to enable people, in their homes and their businesses, to play an important role in combatting climate change, by providing households and businesses access to locally sourced 100% renewable energy.  Fast forward to today, and the business is now a key player in the renewable energy space, and despite challenging market conditions has continued to grow profitably over the past 5 years.

The business has recently reviewed its longer term strategy and is now poised to take a leap forwards, focused on a transformational growth agenda which delivers long term value for its customers, shareholders and people. This will enable the achievement of its purpose; powering the choice for customers, of a cleaner greener future.    Good Energy now employs around 300 people in the historic market town of Chippenham, Wiltshire.

About the role

Reporting into our Head of Communications, you’ll be responsible for ensuring our people are kept up to date with all of the latest information here at Good Energy.

Working within the Communications team, but with close links to the People & Culture team, you will be part of a busy and vibrant group who work across all aspects of communications including consumer and business PR.  You will work with the Head of Communications to plan and execute the internal communications strategy including launching the use of social media as an internal communication tool.

Working closely with key stakeholders across the business, you’ll ensure the communications plan is well communicated and additionally ensure continuous improvement through gaining feedback on successes and recommendations.

Being at the heart of the business means you’ll be in a great position to create award winning, internal communications campaigns which will keep our people engaged and motivated to keep driving towards our mission of ‘creating a cleaner, greener future together.’

About You

With a relevant qualification in Communications or PR, you will have considerable experience in Internal Communications, ideally as an Internal Communications Executive or Manager working for a complex, ideally green/environment/tech focused business.

Previous experience of being part of an Intranet project launch team and driving internal engagement and usage would be a distinct advantage.

You don’t have to have a background in renewable energy but you must be motivated by working for a purpose and values led organisation, and have the capability to learn about a complex industry, fast.

In addition to a competitive salary we also offer a wide range of benefits. Our office in Chippenham is very accessible; just a short drive off the M4 and a two minute walk from the train station.
