To make that happen, we’re forming a new team of digital experts to lead this transformation by building apps, sites and other software that will truly set us apart in the eyes of our customers and do things no-one else can.
As more and more people are getting smart meters in their homes, we’re gearing up to build exciting new tools that bring an unbelievable amount of insight to our customers around the way they generate, store and consume their energy
About the role
We’re looking for a digital designer to join us at this early stage to help us make a step-change in the digital experience we offer our customers and bring to life Good Energy’s purpose to create a cleaner, greener future. Your role will be spread between this digital studio team and the wider marketing team.
You’ll take our brand exploration work and visual guidelines to produce creative assets that bring to life our story, and leading agency-based artworkers on creative projects when needed.
Alongside this, you’ll spend your time working closely with the digital studio team to design new customer-facing user interfaces that surprise and delight our customers. Your role will be responsible for the quality and impact of the design of these new projects, as well as collaborating with UX designers and developers on the functionality, layout and visual design.
We want to make it easier than ever for our customers to move to a smart-enabled home and generate their own energy too, all enabled through digital applications built by this team, making use of the rich data that smart homes can provide us. This role will be integral to this successful delivery.
Other key responsibilities will include;
- Leading and delivering the visual design of marketing creatives that are compelling and consistent with our brand and strategy
- Collaborating and developing relationships with key stakeholders, agencies and members of the marketing team to enable successful project delivery against strategic plan.
- Designing new customer-facing features and interfaces that demonstrably meet expressed customer and commercial needs, supported where possible by data and qualitative user testing
- Creating wireframes and prototypes as part of the design process in order to prove concepts and engage stakeholders
- Building and implementing a reusable pattern library for future use.
Whether you come from a design, marketing or digital development background, you’re an expert at designing digital interfaces that engage their users, provide a great user experience and help to solve business needs and have a proven track record of the success of these designs and business impact. You’ll understand and have experience in user-centric design principles and engagement metrics - and be able to successfully apply them to marketing creative design work too for greatest impact. You’ll have previous experience working with marketing teams as well as working in cross-functional design and development teams.
You will also have In-depth knowledge and experience of the following:
- UX research process experience
- Developing visual language of a brand and working it into creatives.
- Agile design approaches (e.g. Google Design Sprints)
- Creating and delivering prototypes that prove concepts to be tested with users and stakeholders
- Delivery in interaction design, providing evidence of success of campaigns through clear metrics where possible
With excellent planning and organisational skills you will have previously worked in Agile or Scrum environments. A strong collaborator and team player you will be an effective and comfortable communicating with colleagues at all levels within Good Energy.
You don’t have to have a background in renewable energy but you must be motivated by working for a purpose and values led organisation, and have the capability to learn about a complex industry, fast.
