Good Energy now employs around 300 people in the historic market town of Chippenham, Wiltshire.
About the role
Reporting to the Regulation and Compliance Manager, as Compliance Officer you will support the delivery, and evidencing of, current and forthcoming regulatory obligations. This role is integral to ensuring Good Energy can deliver the outcomes required by applicable industry codes, obligations, and laws. You’ll support operational teams by collaboratively conducting impact assessments of forthcoming changes, and supporting the embedding of processes to meet new regulatory requirements.
You will support a culture of compliance across the business and work in collaboration with internal stakeholders to support their understanding of the impacts of changes and to work with them to deliver solutions which are consistent with regulatory obligations.
You will be responsible for reporting progress and outcomes of internal change initiatives at relevant governance meetings such as the Audit and Risk Committee.
You’ll be degree qualified, or with equivalent experience, and will have previous experience working in a similar role in a highly regulated industry. You’ll ideally have practical knowledge of the OFGEM supply licence, consumer law, GDPR and industry code agreements for the supply of energy. You will be able to demonstrate working commercially with key stakeholders to deliver solutions that are easy to use and have considered related risk.
Confident working with and influencing internal stakeholders at all levels across the business, you can escalate issues clearly, and provide logical, commercially considered and pragmatic recommendations, supported by data where possible. You are someone with experience of external relationship management with applicable regulators (OFGEM, ICO), ensuring relationships are maintained and mutually beneficial.
You are willing and able to challenge stakeholders where necessary, and defend own views when challenged and seek to reach alignment and a pragmatic solution.
