About the role
Reporting to the Assistant Company Secretary, in this role you’ll provide company secretarial administration support operating within the Legal Affairs team. You’ll play an integral part in ensuring that the core governance function of the business is agile and effective and secretarial processes, procedures and systems are robust.

You’ll work closely with the Assistant Company Secretary to deliver key strategic priorities and meet board requirements. With responsibility for managing and delivering key events in the secretarial calendar such as the AGM, you’ll ensure that events are well organized and ran efficiently. You’ll also assist with the production and distribution of Board and Committee materials.

Other administrative tasks that you’ll be involved in will include maintaining statutory and corporate registers and records, company share schemes, ensuring minutes of proceedings of the Boards of subsidiary entities are appropriately filed and maintained and assisting with the production and publication of market announcements. You will also be involved in secretarial projects such as AGM, annual and interim reports and dividend payments.

About you

With previous experience working with a company secretarial and ideally in a listed environment, you’ll have experience of administering electronic statutory registers and online filings.
We’re looking for a positive, focused and enthusiastic self-starter who has a keen eye for detail. You understand how a Secretarial operates, strive to meet deadlines and pride yourself on producing high quality work in a timely manner.
Able to manage your own workload and prioritise effectively, you are proactive and understand that maintaining a high level of detail is an all-important skill and key to the success of any Secretarial.
A great communicator and team player you are well versed in engaging with colleagues both verbally and in writing in an open and straightforward manner and enjoy in a relaxed yet dynamic environment where no two days are the same. You have an enquiring mind and enjoy working on a wide variety of projects and tasks at any one time.
A Company Secretarial qualification is desirable but not essential.
A background in the UK energy sector is desirable but not essential, however you must be motivated by working for a purpose and values led organisation, with the capability to learn about a complex industry, fast.
