Fundamental to this strategy is the data & analytics team and technology, delivering regular reports and a democratized analytics capability, which will help Good Energy to drive customer centricity, to support the development of digital products and services, and improve trading and operations.
About the role
The BI Lead works as part of the IT & Digital leadership team and is responsible for the leadership of the Data & Analytics team, who provide support, subject matter expertise, development and delivery of data management & warehousing platforms, reporting tools and analytics capability.
This role is a combination of Scrum Product Owner with an emphasis on data management and architecture, plus background and experience of analytics and reporting requirements for business, IT & Digital teams.
You will have line management responsibility for a small team of BI analysts, technical experts and developers, as well as management responsibility for third party consultancies, software specialists and vendors for BI & data platforms and tools.
You will work alongside other Product Owners and Leads to lead the team in an agile delivery structure where dependencies are managed ‘horizontally’ across the portfolio.
You will have experience and be able to supply evidence of successfully leading a high-performing team, to deliver value early and often, with a focus on outcomes, business KPI’s and according to an overarching strategy.
You will lead, support and motivate the Data Analytics team; by example and using Agile principles and practices to drive continued momentum and incremental improvement. You will also lead the team to ensure data extraction, transform and load, into data warehouse, ensuring that data is complete, appropriately cleansed and delivered to agreed timelines and accuracy. With this taken into account you will have previous experience in implementing and managing data warehouse technology.
Additionally, you will require experience of managing programmes where data and analytics are used to solve and influence strategic business problems. You will also have a strong grounding in Data Architecture and Meta data collection methods.
