 About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Company Secretary.  Responsible for the day-to-day operation of Good Energy’s Secretariat function, you will work collaboratively with the Company Secretary and other key functions (e.g. compliance, regulatory, legal), experts in the wider business and external service providers.  You’ll deliver high quality, high impact practical and pragmatic Secretariat support to enable the business to meet its objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the board and its committees, including collecting marketing materials, providing advice of meetings and production or minutes
  • Managing the company’s compliance with regulatory obligations, including disclosures, record-keeping and register management
  • Co-ordinating the Company’s Annual General Meeting and operational communications with investors
  • Administering employee share plans; and
  • Identifying and advising on relevant regulatory changes and the entire corporate governance landscape.

About you

Qualified (or practising solicitor or accountant) you’ll have extensive business-facing company secretary experience in a UK-listed environment, ideally AIM.  You’ll be confident in dealing with complex, high profile matters working with senior business leaders and key colleagues with the view of building trusted advisor relationships.  Commercial in nature, you’ll have a good understanding of the external market place and in particular to the regulatory and political environment.  A working knowledge of Blueprint would be an advantage.

A background in the UK energy sector is desirable but not essential, however you must be motivated by working for a purpose and values led organisation, with the capability to learn about a complex industry, fast.

We are a challenger in the energy market and this is an energy company like no other. You will work alongside colleagues who put our customers and our values at the heart of everything they do. You’ll be part of a small and friendly team so expect to make new friends and enjoy team activities outside of work. Just like us and our customers you will have an interest and understanding of environmental issues.
