Wind turbines, solar panels, hydro stations, and sustainable biomass… we’ve got the lot.
At Good Energy we only generate, buy and sell green. The closest you’ll get to brown energy around here is the biomass that makes our green energy, if you follow. We source sustainable electricity from renewable generators all around the country, supplying the national grid with only 100% pure, clean, green energy.

Wind
Most of the electricity we buy comes from wind power. And we’ve got a lot of it in the UK. We have our own wind farm down in Delabole, Cornwall, the first commercial wind farm in the UK in fact, which we are currently applying to re-power. We also support some awe inspiring community wind generators like Westmill, some businesses going green and a large number of land owners and farmers getting into wind energy.
Water
We love water. It gives us about 13% of our clean green energy. We buy hydro electricity from all kinds of places like Glen Lyn Gorge and Sowton Mill in Devon, and we’re even purchasing from a prototype onshore wave generator. Supporting emerging technologies is important to Good Energy.
Sunlight
Whilst the UK is not always the sunniest place on earth modern solar panels are finely tuned to our grey skies and can still provide vast amounts of green electricity. We buy solar power from a few large generators like
St Aldhelm’s Church, and the Peabody Trust. What we are really proud of however, is our payment scheme for home solar panels. This rewards people who generate renewable electricity at home by paying them for the output, even if they use it themselves.
