Our hydro generators are some of the few people in the country pleased to see grey clouds gathering over their heads. 17% of our electricity comes from places like Glen Lyn Gorge and Sowton Mill in Devon as well as Docker Nook in the Lake District.
We’re even purchasing electricity from a prototype onshore wave generator; supporting emerging technologies is important to Good Energy and vital to achieving a renewable future for the country.
Case study: Docker Nook Farm
Mark Cropper, managing director of Ellergreen Hydro, sets the standard for micro-hydro in the hill farms of the Lake District, tapping into locally available energy resources with a 15kW generator.
