Hampole Wind Farm

Hampole wind farm

This site is located in Hampole near Doncaster, and its four turbines have a total generation capacity of 8.2MW, sufficient to power between 4,000-5,000 homes.

In spring 2014 the Hampole wind farm started to generate renewable electricity. It’s expected to generate around 20,000MWh a year, nearly doubling the amount of renewable electricity that Good Energy generates, taking us a step closer towards our goal of generating 50% of the electricity our customers use.

The wind farm construction work has been completed both on time and to budget, and because we sourced the turbine towers from leading British manufacturers Mabey Bridge in Chepstow, we were able to keep our carbon footprint to a minimum and boost the UK's economy as well.

The site will be eligible for Good Energy’s Local Tariff, which gives residents living near wind farms the opportunity to benefit from electricity at least 20% cheaper than our standard tariff in that region. We’re also offering other benefits to locals including a community fund worth £8,200 a year for the lifetime of the wind farm to support local charitable causes.
