Good Energy’s Offgrid scheme is designed for people whose homes are powered entirely by a renewable generator such as a wind turbine or solar PV panel, and are not connected to the national grid system.
Good Energy pays Offgrid Generators 4.5p for every unit of electricity they generate - even though they use it all themselves. Offgrid Generators need to have an installed capacity of less than 10kW.
Good Energy is committed to supporting Offgrid microgenerators, thereby encouraging individuals to get involved in the solutions to Climate Change.
How does offgrid generation work?
Good Energy’s Offgrid Generation scheme is simple. An accredited total generation meter should have been fitted when the generator was installed. This meter records everything that the generator produces. Once a year, we will ask for a meter reading and will credit you for the units of electricity produced, less a small administration charge.
Rest assured, as long as you meet our requirements, we make no changes to your electricity system and do not require any work to be carried out at the property.
