To join the Home Generation scheme, there are a few basic requirements that you need to meet. We cannot process your application unless all these requirements are met.
You must be a supply customer of Good Energy. This means that any power you use from the grid will be supplied by Good Energy’s 100% renewable electricity. If you are not already a Good Energy customer you will need to sign up and receive an account number and confirmed start date before submitting a Home Generation application.
Your renewable generator must already be in place. We will ask you for details of the installation on application.
You must have an Ofgem accredited total generation meter fitted. This records everything that the generator produces, and is normally fitted by your installer. Please see the Ofgem PDF File for a list of approved total generation meters. Your installer can assist you further with this.
You must have permission from your local distribution company to connect to the national grid. Your installer should advise you on this process.
