Solarsense

Established in 1995, Solarsense has become the leading solar installer in the South West. Run by a dedicated and eco-conscious management team with over 4,000 solar systems installed to date, their portfolio includes many “firsts”:

  • The UK’s first grant based PV system, on a domestic house in Clevedon, 2003.
  • The award-winning system at the Clifton Lido, Bristol -  the largest solar thermal system in the region, completed 2009.
  • The UK’s largest privately owned rooftop PV system at Worthy Farm, Glastonbury, completed 2010.

Each year Solarsense puts a percentage of their net profits towards overseas charity projects, using solar power to improve sanitation, healthcare or social facilities. Their 2011 project is installing solar powered vaccination fridges at medical centres in remote villages in the Ejere region of Ethiopia.

Solarsense are now amongst the UK’s most experienced designer-installers of PV for agricultural barns, fields, commercial and public buildings. The Feed-in Tariff is now making these larger schemes financially viable, which has already been the case for many years in Germany, under very similar incentive schemes.
