Hugo House - Head of Business Development
Hugo’s career began in broadcast media, producing factual entertainment programmes for terrestrial broadcast channels. Hugo moved into the renewables industry in 2005 and today works for Good Energy, designing and implementing their propositions for renewable generators, businesses and consumers. A key area of Hugo’s expertise is the Feed-in Tariff, having designed and brought to market Good Energy’s FIT services for large and small generators alike.
Jessica Knowles - Project Developer and Stakeholder Liaison
Jessica manages and maintains relationships with key stakeholders including communities, planning officers, landowners, press and statutory and non-statutory consultees. She's responsible for planning and implementing PR and communications for our projects, heading up the planning consultations, press announcements, and local engagement.
Jessica is involved in all aspects of the projects from the start, working on feasibility and planning risk for our pipeline of projects and has a particular interest in visual impact, ecology, community appraisal and indentifying options for community and stakeholder engagement.
Jessica previously worked in waste management, helping farmers to set up companies to deal with the Government’s legislation on waste and helping them to maximise the revenue from recycling waste materials.
John Colombi - Project Developer
John’s focus in the team is more geared towards the commercial and technical elements of wind farm development. John undertakes site assessments and project viability to make sure the right sites are selected and developed and that we get the best from each one, pulling together project plans and budgets to make sure things are kept on track.
With Delabole now up and running, John works with Martin Edwards down at the farm to make sure all is as it should be and that the site is operating safely and efficiently.
John has previously worked in the Good Energy Trading team with experience in the energy and PPA markets and has had involvement in countless renewable energy projects across the UK.
Juliet Davenport - MA, MSc, Good Energy Generation Executive Director
Juliet founded Good Energy in 1999. She was appointed Chief Executive of Good Energy Group and Chief Executive of Good Energy Ltd in 2002. Previously she was a Director of ESD and ESD Ventures, BWEA and EWEA.
Juliet is highly regarded in the renewable energy industry and has held positions on several strategic and advisory boards. These include OFGEM’s Environment Advisory Board, Ministerial Smart Metering, REGENSW Board; and the Schumacher Advisory Board. Juliet has played a integral role in every aspect of Delabole Repower and was instrumental in securing the finance for the repower project. Juliet has an excellent understanding of the energy markets and has been at the forefront of the company’s energy trading strategy since the beginning.
With degrees in Atmospheric Physics and Economics she is highly qualified to consider the strategic impact of climate change and renewable energy, and market response.

Martin Edwards - Non-Executive Director
Martin was appointed as a Director of Good Energy Group at its formation, bringing valuable knowledge of the renewable generation business to the company. Martin was instrumental in taking Delabole wind farm - the UK’s first commercial wind farm - from concept to completion in the 1990s.
Delabole wind farm was acquired by Good Energy Group in 2002 and Martin continued to direct all local operations, maintenance and contract negotiations for it. He has also played a key role in implementing the £12 million redevelopment of the wind farm during 2010.
Martin also works as an independent wind energy consultant.
Richard Squires - BSc, MBA, Non-Executive Director
Rick was appointed to the Board in 2008. He holds a number of non-executive board directorships of companies within the renewable energy sector. Until 2009 he was the Non-executive Chairman of Eclipse Energy Company Ltd., a UK based privately owned wind power company with a development portfolio of approximately 250 MW. Prior to the sale of the company to a major European utility in late 2008, Rick was involved in the raising of equity and mezzanine debt from city institutions to fund development activities.
Rick is also the founder of PiEnergy Ltd. which provides consultancy services to the international energy business across a spectrum of activities, with particular focus on renewable energy. He has held senior level commercial positions with the Royal Dutch Shell Group and also with InterGen, a US-based independent power producer with generation assets located on four continents.
Good Energy Ltd - Finance, PR and Marketing Support
The Good Energy Ltd finance team provide support to GenCo through day-to-day management accounting as well as financial modelling and planning for both individual sites and the GenCo business as a whole. They also advise on financial matters in general on an ad hoc basis.
Jessica Knowles works closely with the Good Energy Ltd PR and marketing teams to utilise their resources, expertise and contacts. This ranges from liaising with press, copywriting, use of the Good Energy web sites, and design of materials.
