Solar PV FIT rates
The table below shows the tariff rates that eligible solar PV installations are entitled to from 1st August 2011 to 30th June 2012. However, the government has consulted on changes to these rates, which has been the subject of a High Court appeal brought by Friends of the Earth and other solar panel installers. For full details on how this ruling affects the rate you will receive for your solar PV installation please see below.
If you install and register your panels before 3rd March 2012
The government has recently lost its appeal against the High Court ruling secured by Friends of the Earth and two solar panel installation companies in January 2012. Therefore if your installation was registered on or before 3rd March 2012 you will receive the higher FIT rates quoted below for the entire eligibility period of your installation.
If you install and register your panels between 3rd – 31st March 2012
You will receive the higher FIT rates quoted below for your generation output from 3rd - 31st March 2012, but this will decrease to the new lower rates for your generation output from 1st April 2012 onwards.
If you install and register your panels on or after 1st April 2012
The government has confirmed that the lower rates quoted below will continue to apply to solar PV installations registered between 1st April and 30th June 2012. These rates will apply to the whole 25 year eligibility period of your installation. You will also have to meet the additional requirement of ensuring your property holds an EPC of D or above to be eligible for the full FIT rate from 1st April 2012. DECC have yet to release further details of rates from 1st July 2012 onwards.
