Under the current system businesses have to calculate their emissions based on a Grid Average factor - 0.545g CO2 per kWh they purchse - even if they are signed up to a 100% renewable electricity tariff or generating their own renewable power on site. We believe that if a business generates its own renewable energy or buys it from a certified green energy tariff then it should be counted as zero-carbon when calculating their emissions.
