Solar Saturday

This Saturday twelve homes in Bristol will be showcasing their solar PV and solar thermal as part of our partner Bristol Green Doors’ Solar Saturday event. During one hour sessions – which can be booked here – householders will open their homes to anyone wanting to know more about solar energy technologies, sharing their experiences and demonstrating their systems. “It’s a great opportunity for people who are thinking about installing their own solar technology to learn about costs, space requirements, maintenance, metering, adaptation of existing systems, Feed-in Tariffs and the Renewable Heat Incentive” says Dan Wiesselberg of Bristol Green Doors. Solar suppliers sponsoring the event, including Good Energy partner Solarsense will also be present at the event.
Here are a few reasons why we think you should come along:
1) The event is entirely free.
2) And according to DECC investing in a domestic generation system can earn you 6-8% interest.
3) You’ll be in excellent company. Thousands of people across the UK are generating their own renewable energy, and earning money for it. Over 2,000 of them are with Good Energy, benefitting from our broad expertise and excellent service.
4) You’ll be helping to build a decentralised and democratic renewable energy network for the country. Good Energy believes the UK can be powered purely by renewables by 2050; independent renewable energy generation is the foundation upon which we see this future being built.
If you live in Bristol and are already a generator then show your support for the event by printing off the below poster and putting it up in your window. Together we can change the way the UK generates and uses energy.
Solar Saturday is part of Bristol’s Good Living Week, a new festival aiming to inspire people in cities to live and work more sustainably. Find out what else is going on and book tickets for events here.
