So many people today behave like Scrooge when asked to act on climate change and take a “Bah! Humbug” approach. A new version for the modern age would have the Ghost of Christmas Past show us the great civilisation that man has built without the use of fossil fuels. The Ghost of Christmas Present might show us all of the alternative technologies that can be used to generate power. And the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come would show the not just Scrooge's neglected and untended grave but all the horrible consequences of unchecked climate change. We can, like Scrooge, wake up and resolve to change our ways. It would be the best Christmas present ever if the majority chose to do so.
