Good Energy is 10 years old and we’ve got lots to celebrate.
By buying 100% renewable electricity from us our customers are supporting 1000 independent generators making pure green energy from wind, sunlight and water. To thank them for their continuing support, we’ve put together an array of 10 fantastic prizes which have been donated by our wonderful and diverse community of generators.
Our prizes
A 4-night stay for four people at The Stables at Holestone Moor Barns in the Derbyshire Dales. This 5-star, 200-year-old property has won a Silver Award in the Green Tourism Scheme and has a 15kW wind turbine on site, while Good Energy buys its surplus electricity. Stay to start on a Monday and can be taken anytime during January, February, March, April (except Easter), May, June, September, October, November or December (not Christmas or New Year). An off-peak weekend for two in a cottage at Glen Lyn Gorge in Exmoor, Devon. A weekend course on Sustainable Living at Littleton Mill, Wiltshire. The perfect venue for relaxing mind, body and soul, Littleton Mill is run on strong environmental principles. A one-day course at the Centre for Alternative Technology in Snowdonia, Wales. Choose from a wide range of courses — from sustainable beekeeping to rainwater harvesting. Value of voucher is £45, valid for any day course held in 2010’s programme. Lunch for two at the River Cottage Canteen in Bath or Axminster. Both restaurants showcase the very best seasonal produce on offer from the SouthWest in line with the River Cottage philosophy of sustainability. Value of voucher £60, excludes alcohol. A presentation pack of six different beers and a sweatshirt from Hobsons Brewery, Shropshire. Hobsons brews distinctive, award-winning cask and seasonal ales including Twisted Spire and Postman’s Knock. Ten milk jugs from Sheldon:Cooney Glassworks, Staffordshire. Sheldon:Cooney make beautiful hand-blown glass lighting and interior objects. They live and work in as sustainable way as possible, with two wind turbines generating most of the electricity needed to craft their pieces, with the rest supplying Good Energy customers. Five cool bags with vouchers for Mackie’s ice cream. At Mackie’s family farm in Aberdeenshire, three wind turbines power the manufacture and storage of their delicious award-winning ice cream. Good Energy has been buying their surplus energy since 2005, helping them secure sustainable power for the future. A hamper of tasty Cornish air-dried meats and salamis from Deli Farm Charcuterie. Based at the Good Energy wind farm in Delabole, Cornwall, Deli Farm’s award-winning products are made using traditional methods combined with modern technology. Their energy comes from the wind farm - which will also

How to Enter
The Good Energy birthday competition is open to all existing Good Energy electricity and gas customers and any new customers who switch between December 1st 2009 and February 28th 2010. See full terms and conditions below.
To enter the Good Energy Birthday Competition, all you need to do is send us your meter reading. Either:
- complete the birthday card which will be enclosed with your quarterly bill, or
- email meter-readings@goodenergy.co.uk, putting Birthday in the subject field, and giving your meter reading, the date it was taken, your name and account number (on your last bill) or postcode.
Please also let us know if you’d like us to send you a Direct Debit signup form.
Good Energy generators and business customers (who may not supply us with meter readings) can also enter. Please follow the email entry instructions above. You don’t need to provide a meter reading, but please do put a quick line in to make sure we know you’re entering the birthday competition.
