Rebecca Brown, Generation Products Officer

Becky is currently in Bolivia, sharing her musical passion – second only to her passion for renewable energy! – with children at an orphanage in Cochabamba, south east of the Bolivian capital of La Paz.

“I work with larger generators – anything from 30kW up to several MW. I support them through all stages of the project, from the initial idea, through to when they receive their first payment and then each time they renew their contract. With the introduction of the Feed-in Tariff, more and more generators have been getting in touch, for many of whom generation is a secondary line of business. Working within the energy trading team has given me an understanding of the industry, pricing, and the market so I can help generators with industry processes, the contracting phase, terms & conditions, and so on. Working with lots of different generators and projects means I can draw on their stories and experiences to help others in similar situations.

“To me, an important part of Good Energy’s vision is putting generation back in the hands of people, allowing them to become self-sufficient – it just makes sense.  I’ve been with Good Energy for five years; the role combines my love of all things techie with my customer-care experience. I enjoy taking something really technical and being able to explain it simply. The very best bit is when everything comes together, for example a generator I’ve worked with since 2008 has just got their turbine installed. It’s wonderful when they send me a photo of themselves with their generator; I feel very proud of what we achieve at Good Energy.”
