It’s no coincidence we’ve topped the Which? Customer Service tables twice now. Customer Care advisor Mira-Sophie, who is currently studying in her spare time for a degree in environmental science, tells us more.

“I don’t have the conventional professional background - I started out in the construction industry training as an electrician. It gave me a great understanding of buildings services and energy systems, and sparked off my passion for renewables. When I found out about Good Energy I just thought they were fantastic, they were 100% renewable and not compromising at all, really courageous actually - a small company trying to make a difference in such an aggressive industry.

“My favourite part of the job is the generation side.  If someone’s got a wind turbine and a ground source heat pump and they want to talk about the best type of metering, I love doing that – and it comes with the satisfaction that I’ve got the knowledge to help. Generation is interesting because there’s so much research and development at the moment, so there’s always something new to learn.

“It’s great working with my colleagues because they’re so bright and switched on about environmental issues. Their backgrounds range from economics and geography to sociology. They’re very adaptable and diligent; like in a busy kitchen, if you’ve got lots of customers you step up and do the best you can. It’s really great, but we definitely work hard.

“Good customer service is not just about resolving problems. We always try to go that extra mile for the customer, and are constantly aware of the reason we’re doing it: we’re not just a business out solely for profit. I think we’re giving customer service as it should be.”
