THE DELABOLE STORY

Delabole wind farm came into operation in 1991, making it Britain’s first commercial wind farm. It is operated by Windelectric, which is owned by Good Energy’s parent company, Good Energy Group Plc. Delabole is very close to some of Cornwall’s best tourist spots and if you find yourself in the area and fancy learning about wind farms, call Martin Edwards on 01840 214 100 who will be glad to show you around - you might even get to sample his delicious, homemade salami.

We are currently working around the clock to re-power Delabole - upgrading to brand new state of the art turbines that will dramatically increase the output of the wind farm so it can supply even more of our customers with clean, renewable electricity .
