Good Energy Shop helps competition winners to keep energy bills low

One London family were the lucky winners of a stylish Wattson energy monitor after beating 200 other entrants in a competition launched at the Innocent Fete in August.

The Parana-Hetty family of Bethnal Green in East London received their prize of a stylish
Wattson energy monitor after winning a competition launched at the innocent Village Fete in
August.

Over 200 people entered the competition, and the Parana-Hetty’s were thrilled with their new
gadget. The Wattson from DIY Kyoto monitors electricity usage in both pounds and watts,
allowing owners to determine how much they are spending and enable them to reduce their
energy bills. It glows in an array of different colours, making it a vibrant addition to any home,
and can also be attached to a computer where a program called ‘holmes’ downloads

information about how much energy is being used, when, how much, and even sets goals on
how to save more energy.

On receiving the Wattson delivered by DIY Kyoto themselves, Anthony, father of two-year-old
Magnus and husband to Christine, exclaimed: “Thanks for the prize. It will help us take much
more care of our energy usage.”

Anthony lives in a specially designed eco build in London’s Adelaide Wharf, but since installing
the Wattson, he has been making sure his lifestyle is even more energy efficient. He recently
commented: “Checking my new gadget has become addictive. The Wattson has really allowed
me to monitor exactly where electricity wastage comes from in my home - which I discovered
is mainly from my cooker, dishwasher and washing machine. It is a very welcome addition to
our home and I think every household should invest in one.”

The Wattson and an array of other alternative energy monitors are available to buy on the
Good Energy Shop (www.goodenergyshop.co.uk) now.
